The top section of this ring opens and locks with a click sound- which is why it is called a "hinged" septum ring. This piercing can be worn on the ear, lip, etc. MATERIAL: Titanium. The septum is the thin cartilage inside the nose that separates the nostrils. If possible, the piercing should be made through the tissue below the septum as the cartilage can be very tough.
