A graphite impeller within the vacuum pump may fail, potentially leading to vehicle performance issues. Water ingress can sometimes affect these pumps, and over time, the impeller on the motor spindle may break or shatter. A damaged impeller can result in reduced air pressure or vacuum, impairing the operation of the PSE pump. It may also cause the motor to jam, potentially leading to a blown 20A fuse and pump shutdown.
