RMS Compatible M42 Microscope Lens Adapter

Dedicated M42-to-RMS mechanical adapter for integrating standard microscope objectives into photographic systems. Constructed from anodised aluminium alloy for corrosion resistance and tactile rigidity. External thread: M42 × 1 mm (male); internal thread: RMS 0.796"–36 TPI (female). Dimensions: OD 42 mm, ID ~20.2 mm, height 5.5 mm. Surface finish: matte natural anodising — non-reflective, scratch-resistant, and compatible with cleanroom handling. This is a passive, non-optical component — it introduces no magnification, no light loss, and no aberration. It does not restore autofocus or aperture control. Focus remains entirely manual and limited to the objective’s native working distance (e.g., ~1.2 cm for 4×, sub-millimetre for higher magnifications). Total optical train length must stay within 160 mm from objective shoulder to camera sensor — users must account for SLR adapter thickness, camera flange distance, and any intermediate spacers. Vignetting at frame edges is normal and expected due to the circular image circle of microscope objectives — cropping or post-processing may be required for full-frame sensors. Recommended for use with focusing rails, live-view zoom, and tripod-mounted stability. Package contains one adapter ring only — SLR mount adapters sold separately.
