Metal D2S D2R HID Ballast Module

This is a dedicated HID headlight ballast module built for D2S (projector) and D2R (reflector) lamp applications. The unit is constructed from metal and finished in black, offering superior heat dissipation compared to plastic alternatives. No dimensions, weight, or capacity values are provided in the source material, but its role is strictly defined: to supply regulated high-frequency AC power to HID bulbs after initial high-voltage ignition. It operates as the primary control unit in HID lighting circuits — managing lamp startup sequence, regulating operating current, and monitoring system feedback. Its design follows standard automotive HID ballast topology, supporting nominal 12V vehicle supply input and delivering stable output to maintain consistent lumen output over time. Vehicle fitment covers select European and Japanese models confirmed in the original listing: Renault Koleos VIII (2008–2012), Subaru Impreza (2006–2011), Forester III Mk3 (2007–2013), Nissan 350Z (2003–2008), Murano (2003–2009), GT-R (2009–2012), QX56 (2003–2008), FX35/FX45 (2003–2008), G35 Coupe (2003–2009), and several others. Compatibility remains subject to exact model year, trim, and original lighting configuration — always verify against your VIN or existing part number before purchase.
