It was one of the three sacred herbs renowned by Druids, along with vervain and water-mint. Meadowsweet can cause lung spasms, so there is a concern that it might make asthma worse. Taking salsalate with meadowsweet might cause there to be too much salicylates in the body. This might increase the effects and side effects of salicylates. Taking meadowsweet along with choline magnesium trisalicylate (Trilisate) might increase the effects and side effects of choline magnesium trisalicylate (Trilisate). Take 8-15 drops, two to five times per day or as directed by your practitioner. The best way to use liquid herbal glycerites is to put the suggested amount in a glass of water or juice and drink the entire contents. Glycerites can also be administered directly into the mouth without the assistance of water however some glycerites are unpalatable which is why most people prefer to dilute them into a beverage. Do not take in large amounts or for a long period of time.
