High-Voltage Dual Electrolytic Cap 500V

These dual-section electrolytic capacitors are specified for audio amplifier applications requiring reliable high-voltage DC filtering and energy storage. Capacitance options include 100+100μF, 50+50μF, and 32+32μF, all with a 500V DC working voltage. Manufactured using standard aluminium electrolyte construction, they support traditional service practices in tube and transistor-based amplifiers. Dimensions are subject to ±1–3 mm measurement variance; please allow for minor tolerances in mounting and enclosure planning. Display settings may affect perceived colour accuracy. Electrolytic capacitors stored for more than two months require reforming before full-rated operation. The recommended procedure starts with 50V applied for 10–15 minutes, followed by 20V increments every 4–5 minutes until 500V is achieved. A 100kΩ 5W resistor must be placed in series to manage inrush current and prevent catastrophic failure. Voltage measured across this resistor correlates with instantaneous leakage current. After successful reforming, typical leakage remains between 0.025 and 0.05 mA per microfarad under rated voltage and ambient conditions. Well-suited for replacement in vintage Hi-Fi gear, guitar amplifier refurbishment, and new-build projects prioritising authenticity, simplicity, and proven voltage handling.
