Dual-Section 500V Amplifier Electrolytic Cap

These are dual-section electrolytic capacitors engineered specifically for audio amplifier circuits, offering symmetrical capacitance values (100+100μF, 50+50μF, or 32+32μF) and a robust 500V DC voltage rating. Each capacitor is built to industrial standards for reliability under continuous DC bias in power supply filtering and reservoir roles. Physical dimensions may vary by up to ±3 mm due to manual measurement; please verify fitment before installation. The construction uses conventional wet electrolyte and aluminium foil, compatible with traditional amplifier service and restoration workflows. Capacitors stored for extended periods (2–3 months or more) must undergo a gradual voltage reforming process before full-rated operation. This begins at 50V for 10–15 minutes, followed by incremental 20V increases every 4–5 minutes until 500V is reached. To safeguard against short-circuit risk during reforming, a 100kΩ 5W resistor must be placed in series with the capacitor. Voltage drop across this resistor allows estimation of leakage current. Under normal conditions, a healthy unit exhibits leakage current between 0.025 and 0.05 mA per microfarad at full rated voltage and room temperature. Ideal for replacing ageing capacitors in vintage or modern hi-fi amplifiers, guitar amps, and DIY audio projects requiring matched dual-section performance and proven high-voltage endurance.
