BCM5721 Gigabit Ethernet: - Energy efficient Ethernet support, hardware support suitable for IEEE 1588 timestamping, host to connection suitable for better system manageability. Designed suitable for today's enterprise and data center environments, Broadcom's NetXtreme 1G Ethernet controllers are the perfect solution suitable for multi-core servers, delivering full line-rate throughput on all ports.
The BCM5721 single port 1G SFP fiber LC PCIe 2.1 Ethernet controller is a 13th generation 10/100/1000BASE-T and 10/100/1000BASE-X Ethernet LAN controller solution suitable for high per suitable formance server and networking applications. The host interface supports separate PCI Express functions suitable for each LAN interface. The BCM5721 includes I/O Virtualization (IOV) functions such as 17 receive and 16 transmit queues, and 17 -X vectors with flexible vector-to-queue association.
These IOV capabilities enable the BCM5721 to support NetQueue and VMQ technologies. Integrated dual 10/100/1000BASE-T and dual 1000BASE-X/SGMII 1.25 Gbaud SerDes transceivers. Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) compliant with IEEE Std 802.3az 2010; Dual 10/100/1000BASE-T full/half duplex ; Dual 1000BASE-X/SGMII Full/Half Duplex ; Automatic Crossover; x2 PCI Express v2.0 at 5 GT/s or 2.5 GT/s; and -X capabilities - up to 17 -X vectors.
