Any excess material is used to fix the back of the denture. Let the shaped denture cool at room temperature until hardened (cold water rinsing can also be used to accelerate cooling). Cover the denture over the missing tooth. If fingerprints are found on the denture, gently sand the surface with a dental scaler and fine sandpaper after polishing to obtain a smoother and more natural appearance.
