12A Adjustable Buck Converter Module

Compact non-isolated buck converter module supporting 5–30V DC input and delivering continuously adjustable 1.2–30V DC output (factory-set to 5V). Total weight approx. 75g. Rated for 0–12A output (100W typical; up to 200W with improved heatsinking). Operating temperature range: -40°C to +85°C. Switching frequency: 300kHz. Peak efficiency reaches 95%, dependent on input-output voltage difference and load — confirmed by lab measurements: 81% at 12V→5V/10A, 86% at 12V→5V/6A, 91% at 24V→12V/8A, and 94% at 24V→19V/6A. Protection features include short-circuit current limiting (14A) and automatic thermal shutdown. Reverse polarity input protection is not built-in; users should add an external series diode if required. Physical design includes four 3mm screw-mounting holes and on-board LED for immediate power-status visibility. Core components: dual aluminium heat sinks, 23mm magnet core inductor, 1.0mm copper wire winding, five 470µF/35V low-ESR electrolytics, two 50V MLCCs, and high-frequency low-impedance electrochemical capacitors — all selected to maximise stability, efficiency and low-noise performance. Commonly used in storage battery systems, power adapters, custom lab supplies, and industrial voltage translation (e.g., 12V→3.3V, 24V→12V).
