This example is based on the 74HC595. The datasheet refers to the 74HC595 as an 8-bit serial-in, serial or parallel shift register with output latches, state 3. In other words, you can use it to control 8 outputs at once while only taking up a few pins on your microcontroller. You can link multiple registers together to expand your production even further.

4N35

The 4N35 is a general-purpose optocoupler. It consists of a gallium arsenide infrared LED and a silicon NPN phototransistor. When the input signal is applied to the LED at the input terminal, the LED lights up. After receiving the light signal, the light receiver converts it into an electrical signal and outputs the signal directly or after amplifying it to a standard digital level. Thus, the electricity-light-electricity transition and transmission are completed. Since light is the transmission medium, meaning the input and output terminals are electrically isolated, this process is also called electrical isolation.

PN2222 NPN Transistor

A small DC motor is likely to use more power than an Arduino digital output. If we try to connect the motor directly to an Arduino pin, there's a good chance it could damage the Arduino. A small transistor like the PN2222 can be used as a switch that uses just a little current from the Arduino digital output to control the much larger current in the motor. The transistor has three wires. Most of the electricity flows from the collector to the emitter, but this will only happen if a small amount flows through the base connection. This small current is supplied by the Arduino digital output.

Electrolytic Capacitor

An electrolytic capacitor is a type of capacitor that uses an electrolyte to achieve a higher capacitance than other types of capacitors. An electrolyte is a liquid or gel containing a high concentration of ions. Almost all electrolytic capacitors are polarized, meaning that the voltage across the positive terminal must always be higher than the voltage across the negative terminal. The advantage of high capacitance in electrolytic capacitors also comes with several disadvantages. These disadvantages include high leakage currents, value tolerances, equivalent series resistance, and a limited lifespan.

Ceramic Capacitor

A ceramic capacitor uses a ceramic material as its dielectric. Ceramics were one of the first materials to be used in capacitor production because they were known as insulators. Ceramic capacitors are typically manufactured with very small capacitance values. Ceramic capacitors are also very small and have a low maximum voltage rating. They are non-polarized, meaning they can be safely connected to an AC source. Ceramic capacitors have a high frequency response due to low parasitic effects such as resistance or inductance.

1N4007 Diode

A diode is a device that allows current to flow in only one direction. That is, current should always flow from the anode to the cathode. The cathode terminal can be identified by the gray bar, as shown in the image above. For the 1N4007 diode, the maximum current carrying capacity is 1A and it can withstand peaks up to 30A. So we can use it in circuits designed for less than 1A. The reverse current is 5uA which is negligible. The power dissipation of this diode is 3W. Diode Applications:

Can be used to prevent reverse polarity problem

Half-wave and full-wave rectifiers

Used as a protection device

Current regulators

Welcome to meet
